Topics include: transportation costs, spatial equilibrium, scale economies and specialization, innate geographic advantage, vertical integration, centralization and decentralization, public/private networks, networks in the past, production as a function of transportation and geography, the great transportation revolution, technology and our networked nation, homogenization vs. diversification of culture, where we live across space and land use patterns, globalization and expansive networks.
